Basics Contest The Poetry Manuscript Museum was inaugurated on 14 August 2007, located in the wild and legendary landscape of La Carolina (San Luis).
The Museum was built in honor the poet, philosopher and patriot of Argentina Independence "John Chrysostom Lafinur" who was born in the mining town in 1797 and died in Chile, at 27 years of age in 1824, while he was exiled to spread innovative ideas were fought in the years after Argentina's independence. History records to Lafinur as the first intellectual exile in Argentina.
Since the late nineteenth century, San Luis lifted Lafinur figure as their own, appointed by the provincial history as "the son of La Carolina." His name appears on schools, streets, apartments, plazas, etc.
In the twentieth century, after arduous efforts and official the province repatriated the remains from Chile. After a series of solemn tributes that included the spread of real value in the national literature, to rest in a granite monument built from the building of the Museum of Manuscript Poetry.
The long journey back from his homeland Lafinur first symbolizes the long journey from Argentina to its fuzzy history, history discontinuous misappropriated; narrative that has skipped in the construction of his story, moments of brilliance and verifiable significance. The epic part Lafinur poems in "The Lira Argentina" canonical book gathers the most outstanding pieces inspired by the epic poetry of Independence, published in Buenos Aires in 1924, an indication of Bernardino Rivadavia.
As part of the commemoration of the Bicentennial, the Museum of Manuscript Poetry, under the Government of the Province of San Luis, calls for English-speaking poets to participate in this contest to select the expressions poetic, according to a panel of excellence deserving of integrating a book entitled "First Anthology of Poetry Manuscript Museum." This publication will be distributed to selected poets, cultural and educational institutions and part of it will be in the "Poetry Manuscript Museum" to be released from the thousands of visitors who annually cross it with the intention of linking with the history and this ancient art.
The presence of the Museum of Poetry Manuscript of La Carolina, built on the slopes of some hills and ancient totems, evoking the life of an art that, despite the adversities of the world materialized, remains peaceful and deep among men, as an unforgettable discovery.
This contest wants to pay homage to poetry as "a selfless thought"-in the words of Nobel-Saint John-Perse from a remote place in the world: La Carolina, San Luis, Argentina, where you can feel and sense the universal irradiation message that poetry is still breeding in the heart of man willing to freedom. PARTICIPANTS

The theme and literary technique works will be free in one category: POETRY.
should be written in English. Not be accepted translations, adaptations, recreations or consolidations of other texts.
The works must be original and unpublished, not published in any media, or awards previously or simultaneously submitted in any other contest.

Confirmation of non-compliance with these requirements be grounds for exclusion from this and future calls.
OF THE PRESENTATION OF THE POEMS
2. The complete set of poems submitted must not exceed the length of 150 lines (or lines) max.
3. The works will be signed with a pseudonym and submitted in triplicate on letter or A4 size, typed double-spaced, on one side of paper. Must accompany the print or poems, the file in digital format (CDs). The collection of poems must be registered with the National Intellectual Property Registry. Copy of proof of such records shall be included in the second envelope.
4. Inside the envelope in which the send or compositions, must appear in a second envelope duly sealed, indicating name and surname, identity number, address, zip code, country, telephone and email. In addition, a short CV of the participant to attach to the anthology, where he was awarded. In front of the envelope and the copies will be written only the pseudonym and title of all the poems. This is only the information necessary to evaluate the jury.
5. Manuscripts submitted will not be returned. Will become part of the Fair and Literary Archive will guarded, as testimony to their participation in the International Museum of Manuscript Poetry in La Carolina.

AWARDS The jury awarded 3 (three) prizes with a monetary framework:
a-.) FIRST PRIZE: includes $ 12.OOO (Pesos twelve thousand) Diploma, editing and 20 (twenty) copies of the First Anthology of Poetry Manuscript Museum "Prize" Juan C. Lafinur. "
b-.) SECOND PRIZE: includes $ 6,000 (six thousand Pesos) Diploma, editing and 20 (twenty) copies of the First Anthology of Poetry Museum Handwritten "Prize" Juan C. Lafinur. "
c-.) THIRD PRIZE: includes $ 4,000 (four thousand Pesos) Diploma, editing and 20 (twenty) copies of the First Anthology of Poetry Manuscript Museum "Prize" Juan C. Lafinur. "
d-.) SPECIAL MENTION: The quantity of which is at the discretion of the judges appointed, who will evaluate the submissions in order to form an anthology that, once edited, referencing the value of poetry as art, promoted by the Museum poetry.
The entries will receive a Diploma, edition of his poems in the Anthology and 20 (twenty) copies of book.

AWARDS Awards will be presented in a special act of homage to the third anniversary of the return from Chile, the remains of John Chrysostom Lafinur and the inauguration of the Museum of Poetry Manuscript of La Carolina. This event will take place at La Carolina, on Saturday, August 14, 2010, in the presence of the jury acting in the competition and the winners and mentioned in it.
